THURS Night MINI-SESSION - Fall 2024

THURSDAY RECREATIONAL Co-ed 4 vs 4 MINI-Session

This league is for those looking forward to the weekend and don't take beach volleyball too seriously. Teams are here to have some fun, while trying to improve their game. Most in this league will not have great success at passing or setting the ball, which means there will be a lot of one overs and very few spikes. You don't have to worry about big hitters in this league! Rules in this division will be politely enforced. Extra obvious throws & lifts should be called as well as ANY CONTACT of the NET. This is so people can play and not worry about nit-picky calls that are intended for a higher level of play. (1) ADV player per team maximum. ADV males are restricted, no spikes, jump serves, girl-blocking etc. while females are unrestricted.

Mini-Sessions are proposed in order to continue play as long as reasonably possible while avoiding the November weather. Games are "at risk", read below.

TENTATIVE START DATE:  Thursday (9/26/24)

*1st game MUST be underway by 7:10 or it will be forfeited to the ready team. Limit breaks between sets to 2 mins. max.

The league will be 3 weeks of pool play, and the final week(s) will be playoffs.

Only (1) pool play week will be rescheduled due to weather, the other pool play weeks are "at risk".

The Playoffs will only be rescheduled once. If they cannot be played the following week due to back-to-back weather issues the season ends w/o champion.
Time slots for these games are 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, (10:00* as needed)
Every team will play at least one time slot per week.
Each match will last 60 minutes.
All matches consist of 3 games, rally scoring (21,21,15)*cap at 23,23,17
Teams must have at least one female on the court at all times.
All games will be self-refereed and scored.
The rules will be very relaxed, but for safety concerns no one is allowed to touch the net during play.
Subs are allowed during the regular season. NO new substitutes during playoffs.

This is a private event in cooperation w/ the Baylor Beach Volleyball Club of Waco, TX. 

Check in is typically 10:30am w/ first games starting appx. 11:00am

Co-ed Twos teams

Pool play then single elimination bracket

Tournament duration ~6 to 7 hours with an hour +/- lunch break prior to bracket play.

FALL FUDPUCKER PREPARATION AT THE PICKLE !

WOMENS Group

Come challenge the Pickle's fall delegation of same gender teams heading to Ft. Walton, Florida! Our tournament is used to allow these teams to get some games under their belt in a configuration and format we only do for the FUDS trips. This tournament will be played by the old rules of beach volleyball and in accordance w/ the FUDS 4-player rules.

1) No touching of the net.

2) Side-out scoring. You must be serving to earn points.

3) No let serves. If a serve hits the net, it's a side-out and a change of possession.

4) Games are scored to 11 points, 13 cap, for both pool play and brackets. ONLY the final game is played w/o a cap.

5) All other rules of beach are still applicable.

ADVANCED PLAYERS are encouraged to build the best teams possible in an effort to test these teams, but playing in either of our advanced leagues is NOT a requirement. If you have any questions please email or text and we can advise you, or answer your questions.
